{No Trespassing}

The other day I got together with 3 of my photographer friends to do a little shooting. We were planning on shooting at a park, but when we saw an abandoned house, we changed our mind. Luckily the sign said the Sheriffs would ask us to leave, so we figured with those consequences we would be okay.

To give you an idea of our surroundings.

It didn’t look like much, but it made for some awesome images.

Here is the talented Kyle Burnell, who I met last year at WPPI and who was visiting from Portland, Maine.

The gorgeous Mirelis, who is a photographer in Fort Lauderdale.

I LOVE this one sooo much.

And last but not least, Giselle, who is a talented makeup artist and second shooter for her sister.

I am loving the black and white.

I wish I could look as beautiful as Giselle when I am laughing!

Stunning!

And last but not least, the winner of my contest with Craig and Nicholle’s pictures. Ironically enough is…. Kyle Burnell.

Here is the Fruit Machine shot to prove it.

Congrats Kyle. Stay tuned to my blog for more contests and of course tons of pictures!

{Oh The People I Met}

Sorry I took a little hiatus from my blogging. Don’t worry – back to your regularly scheduled programming now. I realized I still have quite a bit to blog about Scarlett Lillian’s workshop, mainly the AH-MAZING people I met while I was there. Today I am going to tell you a little about the extracurricular activity I had the day after the workshop with Lan Bui, Vu Bui, Kathryn Brown, and Jessica Ashley. These are four awesome people. Jessica and Kaci are insanely talented and totally fun to be around! We decided to do a little sightseeing before we all headed off in different directions and we ended up going to this great driftwood beach.

Here’s the into video to our adventures:

We decided it would be cool to take some fun shots using the self-timer on Lan’s Canon. Oh the craziness that ensued.

So we tried to do the quintessential “jumping” shots.

Poor Kaci is pregnant and couldn’t get on the log before we all jumped.

And here is one of our final shots of the day.

I thought Lan was sooo sweet.

Oh and some fun facial expressions. {See why I was deceived by Lan?}

In all seriousness though, I had the best time on our beach excursion. And honestly, I can’t say enough good things about the Bui Brothers. They are some of the NICEST most GENUINE people I have met in the industry to date.  When I am famous {which is coming very soon}, I am going to treat everyone the way the Lan and Vu do. For example, I couldn’t figure out how to download these images form Flickr and Lan emailed me a diagram complete with pictures on how to do it! And Vu helps me all the time with things like getting music for slideshows and how to get into the coolest WPPI Parties. I could seriously go on and on. But, best of all, they like my humor… and that makes them pretty awesome in my book. I’m sure I will have many more adventures with them in Vegas!

I can’t wait to go to the Workflow portion of their workshop at WPPI. Also, for all you Florida photographers… I am working on getting them here to do a workshop in our area!!!

Check back tomorrow for a fabulous contest!!!

{January was one FABULOUS month}

Wow! I cannot believe January is already over. Where did it go? This was definitely the best month of my year so far! So many exciting things happened this month. I am sooo excited that I had 1,230 people stop by my blog this month! Woohoo… that is the HIGHEST ever! So exciting.

On Thursday, I received a totally awesome email from Miller’s Lab asking if they could use my business card in their upcoming newsletter. Needless to say, I nearly fell out of my chair when I read it. I was BEYOND excited. Little did I know that when they meant upcoming newsletter they meant it would be out the day after they asked me! Glad they liked my new design!

But by far the most exciting thing that happened this month… happened at 9:36pm last night.

Baby Alyssa was born and WOW she is BEAUTIFUL.

She is absolutely perfect and I am sooo excited for Amanda and Greg! I cannot believe that a year and a half ago I was photographing their wedding!

Later this week, I will be posting more images of my sister, an actual shoot of Baby Alyssa and some Share the Love photographs!

God blessed me immensely in January and I cannot wait to see what He has in store for February!

{Share the Love}

I am very excited to announce that I am one of the photographers for the ‘Share the Love’ event this weekend to benefit Haiti.

Here’s the low down:

Families will be able to have an amazing session done and all of the images will be posted online for purchase.

The entire $100 and print profits go straight to sowaseedonline.org

SOW A SEED is a non-profit organization created by a group of young professionals to provide the basic fundamentals such as education, nutrition and healthcare for disadvantaged children living in extreme poverty in Haiti. At this time, this money is needed more than ever!

Seriously, you get a chance to have fabulous portraits taken and help an amazing organization.

Don’t miss out!

Here’s a little more info:

On Saturday, January 30, from 9-2, 30 minute mini sessions will be held in downtown Hollywood (118 S. 20th Avenue, Hollywood, Florida 33020) for $100 per session. All proceeds will go to benefit Sow A Seed. 100% of print sales profits will also benefit Sow a Seed. People are encouraged to arrive early as sessions will be provided on a first come first serve basis. A representative from Sow a Seed will be present to accept the $100 donations as well as to educate the participants on its mission in Haiti. All images will be available for viewing online and participants will be able to purchase prints for personal use. What a great way to let the love and beauty of your family help those less fortunate.

I hope to see you there!!!!!
